Maryam Sultan, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist treating patients with pelvic floor disorders. Her focus is on nonsurgical treatment options, including minimally invasive interventions. She takes a patient-centered approach to care and creates an individualized treatment plan for every patient. She pays close attention to her patient’s responses to various treatment methods and tailors each patient’s care with the goal of restoring function in multiple areas of life. She is an active listener and works hard to maintain a safe space for all of her patients.
Sultan is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
She received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2014. She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 2018.
Sultan is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society, the Academy of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cheering her kids on at their activities, and expanding her palate through delicious food.

Dr sultan and her whole staff are fantastic. I had been going to other doctors for 3 years with the most excruciating pain and I am in my '80s and they just didn't seem to listen to me. Dr sultan from the minute I walked in gave me hope and said she was sure she could help me. And she did, I am so thankful to her!
Thank you so much for not treating me like my pain is all in my head! I saw many doctors who treated me like I was crazy and was making up my symptoms. Dr Sultan treated me with respect and after an examination found that my symptoms made sense with her findings. Thank you for putting me on a path of recovery and improved quality of life!

Dr. Sultan is highly thorough and knowledgeable. She listens carefully, answers questions and explains things very patiently. I personally fully appreciate these things from any provider as I am medically ignorant. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and on the ball. I recommend them wholeheartedly if you have any pertinent healthcare needs.

She was very nice and seemed to be very concerned about my situation and really help me out with a referral to a specialist.
I was almost ready to just completely give up my pain was so intense. I probably went to six or more doctors a and they all said it was my sciatica nerve. Dr.Sultan.... was the first doctor I saw that actually listen to me and said she knew something else that it could be and gave me hope and she was correct!
