Barbara H. Warner, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, RNFA, has expertise in orthopedic spine surgery and cares for her patients throughout their health care journey. She is a nurse practitioner and first assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical at UTHealth Houston.
Warner has been in health care since 1998 and began in the operating room. She expanded her field of interest to include first assisting in surgery in 2004, focusing on spine surgery. Warner graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UTHealth Houston and completed her family nurse practitioner degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. She joined UT Physicians, the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School in May 2023.
Warner participates in a medical mission trip each year with the Crystal Foundation. She is passionate about providing others with needed surgical interventions they would not otherwise have access to.
When not seeing patients, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Barbara is very professional and easy to talk to. She answered all of my questions and I felt like the plan for healing is reasonable.
Everything was great about my experience - scheduling was easy and flexible - I made an appointment the day before. The scheduler was kind and helpful about wait times and fitting into my workday. The equipment appeared very up to date and radiology tech was kind and professional. The PA was great, was interested in me, and was reassuring and knowledgeable about my condition.
