Yesenia Blancas, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN specialist providing care for women of all ages. She enjoys getting to know her patients and providing a comfortable and supportive environment. Her expertise allows her to provide the most accurate and up-to-date clinical advice and treatments for all women at different life stages.
Blancas is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Over the course of her medical career, she has contributed to numerous news articles about women’s health.
Her family immigrated from Mexico, and as a native Houstonian, she spent time in both communities while growing up. She understands and is committed to caring for Houston’s multicultural patient population.
Outside of work, Blancas enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and exercising. She also loves dogs and owns a labradoodle.

The staff, nurse, and doctor were so incredibly caring and friendly. My ob/gyn of many years stopped practicing during COVID, and in the meantime I went to a physician at another practice who could not have cared less about me. I was so put off by that doctor and staff's rudeness that I didn't go back even with an abnormal Pap smear. After this experience, I found Dr. Blancas via my insurance network and am so happy I did. Everyone from the front desk staff to Dr. Blancas was so friendly and caring. I am so relieved to have found my new provider and can't thank everyone there enough.
