Dr. Kao is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). She received her medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York and completed her residency training at Washington University in St. Louis. Following residency, Dr. Kao completed subspecialty training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami. Subsequently, she joined the Department of Otorhinolaryngology as an assistant professor.
Dr. Kao is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Her clinical interests include hair restoration and transplant, facial trauma, facial rejuvenation (including Botox®, injectable fillers, brow lift, facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, and reconstructive surgery of skin cancer defects.

I always have a very pleasant experience at this office. I never have to wait long. They are always kind and courteous. The doctor knows my history and very accurate with what she does. And I love that they are a teaching facility, the interns are always eager to learn and I don't mind giving them some experience.

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with this medical care. I was required to see this surgical practice for a Workers' Compensation incident. I felt that I had been stripped of all bodily autonomy because I was not aware of all of the procedures that were being performed. I had only verbally agreed to fixing a nasal deformity due to a bone protruding from my accident. I was only made aware the morning of surgery. I did not feel as though Dr. Ho/resident doctors attended to my needs or talk me through all recovery steps. I have Crohn's disease and was only prescribed an ibuprofen, which caused GI complications after surgery. The office did not respond to my pharmacist's calls. In addition, I am not happy with the surgical results. I did not feel like I was treated as a person with feelings and autonomy to understand what was going to happen to her body
Dr. Kao is very professional and personable. She has great bedside manners and is very thorough with her medical advice. 10/10 recommend her!

The office referred me to a doctor that could perform a procedure on me. The doctor had a 2 month waiting list but they called his office and got me in to see him two hours later. Very helpful and attentive to my needs.

I had the most pleasant experience with the doctor and the nursing staff. This is one of the best ran medical offices you could be seen in. The receptionist is kind and knowledgeable. The nurses are sweet and courteous, always lending an ear to listen. I love Dr. Kao, her knowledge in her field is commendable. She made me feel very confident and let me know what to look out for and how to safeguard myself after the procedure. I appreciate the work she has done for me.
