Sukhdeep S. Basra, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart interventions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair, left atrial appendage occlusion for atrial fibrillation, and percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect, among other procedures.

He’s an associate professor in the Department of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies & Transplantation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Basra has received numerous awards and has been published in Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the International Journal of Cardiology, and the American Journal of Cardiology. He also serves on several American College of Cardiology committees and is a reviewer for cardiology journals.

Basra has lived in Houston for over a decade and loves the city. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking with his wife, traveling, photography, and music.

Always a waiting time that seems excessive. We have to come in twenty minutes before the start of our appointment then end up waiting well over and hour to see the doctor. They show be held to a higher standard and respect our time like we respect there's!!

I would have appreciated it if Dr. Basra would have been available more than one day per month. It seems that appointments are difficult to get for anything. Wait time was not too bad but the wait time to determine if the original doctor was not going to be there at all was extensive.
