Sukhdeep S. Basra, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart interventions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair, left atrial appendage occlusion for atrial fibrillation, and percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect, among other procedures.
He’s an associate professor in the Department of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies & Transplantation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Basra has received numerous awards and has been published in Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the International Journal of Cardiology, and the American Journal of Cardiology. He also serves on several American College of Cardiology committees and is a reviewer for cardiology journals.
Basra has lived in Houston for over a decade and loves the city. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking with his wife, traveling, photography, and music.
