Silvia Hafliger, MD, is a psychiatrist trained in helping patients cope with medical illnesses such as organ transplant, cancer, HIV, diabetes and heart disease. She treats depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain and substance abuse. She believes in empowering patients and families so they can effectively collaborate with their medical doctors and optimally manage their self- care.
Dr. Hafliger worked for 19 years at the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She believes in collaborative and integrative care and started a psychosocial program for transplant patients that included transplant workshops, post -transplant support group and the Liver Connection Newsletter.
Her interests include speed walking, knitting and spending time with her dogs.

My physician was excellent in every aspect. The staff did not know the name of the building, when calling to make an appointment at this new facility, only the address. Valet parking was hard to find and $17 for two hours is way out of line compared to other medical center facilities.

Dr. Hafliger listened to me and really heard my concerns. I appreciate her so much and am so thankful to have had her support throughout the years, before and after transplant. I was thrilled she had a cancellation the day that I called for an appointment because I really needed her, and she showed up and delivered exceptional service. Again, so thankful for her!!

I don;t know how you can improve with Dr. Sylvia. She is very knowledgeable(especially when it comes to drug intervention). She always gets it right on with me. Wish you had more like her
