Shiva Daram, MD, is an otolaryngologist who sees pediatric patients ranging in age from infants to teenagers.
He has expertise in ear infections, hearing loss, sleep apnea, sleep-disordered breathing, pediatric neck masses, pediatric thyroid disease, pediatric airway surgery, chronic sinus disease, vascular anomalies, speech and swallowing issues, and fetal-neonatal health.
Dr. Daram values being a patient-focused provider and addressing pediatric patients’ needs and concerns directly. He believes in educating them as much as possible and strives to inform the parents about the problems their child is having, how the problem developed, and all the potential treatment options available so they can make a treatment decision together. The extra time he takes to provide this kind of education puts his pediatric patients’ parents at ease and helps them trust him as he guides them through their medical process.

With pediatric audiology, speech, imaging, and other medical and surgical subspecialties, combined with the backing of the world-class Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital to aid in treatment, surgeries, and post-operative care, his practice is uniquely positioned to provide comprehensive and efficient care to any child, regardless of how complex or simple their diagnosis may be.
Dr. Daram completed his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2018, followed by a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in 2019. After his fellowship, he practiced at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and Clear Lake, Texas for over three years.
Dr. Daram is dual board-certified in comprehensive otorhinolaryngology and pediatric otorhinolaryngology. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery where he serves on the Airway and Swallowing Committee and the Education and Sleep Committee.
When not treating patients, Dr. Daram enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, and spending as much time as he can with his two children.

Wait Time was too long When asked after 30 min in the waiting room , if the doctor was running behind, I was told no. Shortly after I got the notification he was 1 hour behind. I saw several families check in, and check out of their visit before I was even called back. I waited 60+ min in the waiting room, and 20 min in the exam room for the doctor. This is excessive especially since the patient is 2 years old. Consider having more child friendly waiting room- coloring papers, toys, games, books for children if you're going to make them wait so long

After my daughter's procedure, which Dr. Daram performed, she is like a completely different child-it feels like a miracle. She is happier than ever, eating so much better, and even her skin color has improved. I can't thank Dr. Daram enough for his kindness and dedication in caring for my daughter. We are beyond grateful for him!
Provider really took the time to read the notes on my son's file. He took the time to explain his thoughts to me about what steps we should take to best evaluate the best plan for my son. Really appreciate the insight and care.

My daughter has a top notch medical team at UT Physicians. Dr. Daram is her ENT doctor. He does a great job explaining to me what is going on with her ears and has provided guidance on next steps. I am grateful that my doctor receives exceptional care at UT Physicians.
Although there's always a significant wait time, we don't mind. Dr. Daram is very thorough in explaining the patient's condition and plan of care. He takes his time and answers all of our questions to our satisfaction.

The waiting time for them to attend to you is a long time. They had me waiting for 3 hours and it took an appointment, but it is a long time.

This was our first visit due to my child sticking something up her nose! From the first call to setup the doctors visit to when we checked out the team was amazing kind and very professional. The energy they gave was calming. The nurse reassured my kid that they not gone hurt her. My daughter was sooo scared due to her doctor trying to remove what was stuck in her nose. They were patient with us even when she was crying kicking and screaming. The whole team needs a raise. Even the people sitting at the front desk. They all had smile and beyond helpful. Thank you again for getting that thing out my baby nose!!!!!!!
