Shiraz A. Younas, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal deformities and scoliosis.
He’s also a professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Younas completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He gained specialized knowledge and expertise by completing a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the University of Tennessee – Campbell Clinic in Memphis. During this fellowship, he trained with world-renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeons with a special focus on scoliosis.

We were a new patient, so Dr. Younas explained that he would take a deeper dive into [...] medical history. He asked for time to research some of her genetic history. He was very interested in [...] and we did not expect him to know us on our very first visit. We really liked our visit with Dr. Younas.

The experience was great. The only thing is that my son was put on a cast and was told that i was getting a paper to give my sons school and never got it. I've been trying to get in touch with someone and no answer. Other then that I would highly recommend
Longer wait than expected to get an appointment. Costs (with insurance discounts) were significantly higher than a similar visit we had made to ortho doctor.

I want to express my appreciation for Dr. Younas and the care he provided for my 12-year-old daughter. He took the time to speak directly with her, allowing her to answer questions and be involved in the conversation. He thoroughly reviewed her X-rays and provided clear, detailed explanations that were easy to understand. His recommendation for a follow-up visit was well-explained, and I appreciated his guidance on why it was necessary. Additionally, he was extremely helpful in providing a doctor's note for school. His staff was also very supportive and helpful throughout the visit, making the entire experience smooth and reassuring. I'm truly grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and the excellent care they provided.

We're very satisfied with the outcome that the doctors did with my daughter.
It was our first time at the clinic, and I loved everything. It was quick, clear, and the attention from everyone was great, from the entrance, the nurses, to the doctor. However, the person at the check-out made faces, and I'm not sure if it was because she didn't hear me or didn't understand me the first time. I kindly requested the doctor's note for my son's school, and she made me feel very uncomfortable about it. Everything else was great, but she left much to be desired. Thank you.

Everyone there from front desk to doctor were very welcoming and made my son feel very comfortable on his appointment.
Everyone was great with the exception of Gabi in the cast room. She was very harsh and did not give directions but expected child to know what she wanted him to do. A little courtesy goes a long way. She def did not seem like she knew how to work with children (11 years) and she def did not seem like she liked her job. She was the only one that wasn't cordial at the office.
Great staff, great doctor! I've recommended this location to several people.

Check out was a little hectic. But everything else was fine.
The doctor was incredible. He was so compassionate with us, knowing that a diagnosis like my daughter received is scary and he told it to us gently and with kindness. He explained what needed to happen and his guidance was very much appreciated. Then the scoliosis nurse that came in and spoke to us after was wonderful as well, making the whole thing into something that wasn't terrifying or awful, but understandable and livable. The both of them answered our questions and were so wonderful the whole way through.
