Sheila M. Coogan, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained minimally invasive vascular specialist.
She’s also a professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Coogan has published numerous articles, chapters, and abstracts on vascular surgery. She has participated in nine research trials that have investigated the improvement of vascular surgery techniques and the use of new devices.

Hi, Dr. Coogan was very pleasant to talk with. The only thing I was startled by, she, of course she wanted to get as much information as possible but then sometimes interrupted me before I had finished explaining my situation. But other than that I was very pleased. Thank you.
I explained that to the doctor I developed Vericose veins post partum. However, she said she could not treat me because they were too small and the smallest needle was a 32 gauge. She also stated that she could only treat one of them that was large enough but she did not. She further stated that I would need laser therapy for my small ones since they are considered cosmetic but did not guide me to a specific clinic for it. I mentioned that I had a dermatology appt in June at the UT Health Smith clinic and that they could possibly do it there.

This was the first time I met with this doctor and had been to this facility. I had a great experience with the doctor and felt good about what my prognosis would be. The facility was very nice; everyone was friendly and helpful

The staff is very concerned about your health and how you feel at time. Dr Coogan have so much patience, put she may me feel like we been knowing each other for a long time. This was one of ten procedures she has scheduled for me at this session. Thank to this group of Ladies.
Okay, well, I just wanted you to know everyone at the office was just went beyond their call to make sure I felt easy and etc. And then I went to the hospital on Wednesday to have a follow up procedure done. And the people on the seventh floor were amazing. The whole staff was amazing at Herman Memorial. So that's it. I had a great experience. Thank you very much.

As instructed I arrived 15 minutes early at 8:45 for a 9:00 am appointment. I did not see the physician until 10:05 am. I was told there was 1 patient before me but was not given an estimate time of delay. Patients take time away from their work, our time should be respected.
Dr. Coogan is a really nice person and she is very knowledgeable.
