10/10

Horrible it took me 15 minutes to half an hour to locate the clinic.

She didn't not look into my medical history and treated me as though I was a waste of time. Even though I was diagnosed with non epileptic seizures she continuously denied my seizures and acted as though PNES is not a serious condition. I felt as though I was being mocked or as if my condition was not "enough " for her interest. She acted as though I understood nothing. I informed her I was only there to ask questions because my PCP needed more information. She seemed to either not care or misunderstood

Experience with provider was positive. Experience with scheduling was extremely negative. Our original March appointment with Dr. Lacuey was rescheduled without notice or explanation to September. We opted for a sooner telehealth visit with another provider when offered. Appointment was scheduled with Sanaz Mahdavi for 1:30 on 3/18, and we received confirmation in the app. We later received notice through the app that the appointment was being rescheduled to 4 pm on the same day. I sent a message through the app that we could not make the 4 pm appointment. I was assured that the appointment time was still 1:30, and that the time was moved only to "close an appointment slot." We continued to receive reminders of the 4 pm appointment, and received a video link for the 4 pm time slot the day before the appointment. I once again sent a message asking for clarification of the actual appointment time, and reiterating that we could not make a 4 pm appointment since we had scheduled it for 1:30. We were again told to join the telehealth visit at 1:30 as originally scheduled. At the time of the appointment, we were unable to log on for our 1:30 appointment because the video link was for 4 pm, as I had explained to numerous people by phone and through the app. Messages through the app all said the appointment was for 1:30, but when I called they could only see the 4 pm appointment. After multiple tries to send a good link, they finally sent us a working telehealth link for the 1:30 appointment at about 1:40. I received a call at the same time, and the representative asked me if we remembered out 1:30 appointment. I explained that I had been trying to log on for some time admidst the confusion about the appointment time, and I asked if they could ensure I was not charged a no-show fee for the appointment. At the end of the appointment, the provider said that my son only needed annual appointments moving forward (which agreed with what Dr. Lacuey had told us last year). However, a couple of hours after the appointment, we received a message in the app that we had an appointment scheduled for a follow-up in May (2 months from now). We also still had an existing future appointment on the schedule with Dr. Lacuey in September. I called scheduling and asked if the May appointment was necessary since we have only been doing annual appointments since 2024, and Sanaz Mahdavi confirmed that we would be having appointments yearly unless there were problems. With this March appointment, and with 2 other appointments scheduled in May and September, that would be 3 appointments this year. I said that we would indeed keep the appointments if the providers said they are necessary, but that is not what they had told us, so I was seeking clarification. Instead of getting clarification about the necessity of these appointments, we were asked if we wanted to keep them both, one, or neither. I again said that we would do what the providers want us to do, [Truncated]

I like this place. I like everybody here. They keep you very much feeling safe and cared for. And I will always come here and make sure that I'm healthy and I have a lot of confidence that I'll be even better.

I think the improvement I had with the appointment is the particular doctor sort of I felt rushed through my appointment a little bit, so I did make a statement or a point about it, and so she slowed down a little, but I felt a little rushed. The next thing I have, the audio, we could not hear each other. It was not the best connection with audio, and she hung up and called me through the telephone. We could not sit through the appointment and look at each other on the screen, but overall, she was helpful, gave me some good suggestions, and it was a good appointment, but it's just those two issues that I had about it. Thank you so much, UT Physicians.
