Ron J. Karni, MD, is a board-certified otorhinolaryngologist specializing in the management of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including throat cancer, oral cancer, larynx cancer, locally advanced skin cancer, salivary gland tumors, and thyroid/parathyroid disease. He performs transoral robotic surgery for tumors of the throat, a modern approach to minimizing the side effects of treatment for throat cancer. He also performs ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy for thyroid nodules and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
Karni is also an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
He has also coauthored several articles on practical tools to integrate evidence-based methods into the daily practice of medicine.

I had so much anxiety over having to have the needle biopsy but when the dr came in he examined me and determined that there was no need to perform the biopsy at this time. He scheduled a CT scan for later this month. I felt confident in his findings and assessments to determine the root cause. He listened well and sent home a "happy patient" Blessings!

Dr Karni was more that professional and polite. He explained everything pretty thoroughly and I feel comfortable with what's about to happen. Never had to deal with something like this before, and it was comforting speaking to him.

Dr. Karni did amazing from the first day of the visit, during the surgery and recovery time, to the follow-up and last visit, when he mentioned everything was good, and my treatment was finished, so I didn't need to go back. He and his team are very knowledgeable, able, and helpful. Dr. Karni is a true human being. You can really feel and see how he cares for his patients. God bless him and his team. The only issue I was facing was waiting time to visit him. Sometimes I have to wait almost 2 hours to visit. I hope they can fix this problem. Thank you.

Need to question my medical history, family history, particularly if cancer is suspect.

Very frustrated that have not received pathology report from surgery which occurred 7 days ago. I would really like to know whether the results are in progress or whether there is a backlog or some other problem. I spent over $100 in round-trip Uber charges to get to and from Medical Center and have nothing to show from this appointment except a promise from the Doctor that he will call me directly when the results are in.
