Richard Beaver, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle. He diagnoses and treats broken bones, stress fractures, strains, and ligament tears, among other conditions, and performs arthroscopic surgery, reconstruction, revision, and other surgical and nonsurgical procedures.
Beaver is also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Texas Orthopaedic Society, and the American Medical Association.

I had to call back the office in order to remind someone to send CVS my medication to be filled. CVS did not receive anything from the doctor from Mr. Beaver's office. So I had to call to remind the assistant or the staff to send out the prescription to CVS. Otherwise, everything was fine. Thank you.
I felt safe and cared for
Dr. Beaver was very professional. He catered to all of my needs, including actually diagnosing me on what the actual issue was. I've had this issue since I was a child and never got actual precise diagnosis, so I now have a name for it. So it was very informative, and he helped me get rid of my problem. So I appreciate him.
I waited over an hour to see Dr. Beaver. An apology from anyone for the wait would have gone a long way with me. I see Dr. Shupe in the same practice and never wait more than a few minutes.

The doctor and staff (Alejandra/medical assistant and Doniesha/receptionist) were very friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and gentle. They made the experience pleasant.
I waited almost 2 hrs to go back to the room. I would have liked to know about the delay so I could have communicated to my ride (we drove in from Corpus).
I had over an hour and thirty minute wait after my original appointment time to be seen. I could have made more money at work, if someone called and told me to come 1:15 minutes late. It was frustrating and unacceptable. I was hella pissed. The only reason I saw dr. Beaver @ 4:45pm is because I walked out, and decided not to stay any longer. He was at the nurses station and most of my appointment was had out there. I'm definitely going to consider having surgery with a different doctor because Beaver doesn't respect me as a patient. And no one informed me it would be 1:45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. I was only told he had a difficult patient and would be with me "soon," but it was 30 minutes pass my appointment time before i was called to a room to wait in.

I felt like the doctors gave me a lot of time and were very thorough. This is my second time to visit UT Physicians and I chose to come back because of the great experience I had with the first doctor.
It is really wonderful to have a team that actively listens to your thoughts and concerns.
So thankful Dr. Beaver was recommended to me. Since initial vist late last May, to November surgery, to all followup visits, I felt secure in care being provided and information, and communication.
I should not have been kept waiting for an hour - if the doctor was running behind on his schedule I should have been made aware.

Dr. Richard Beaver and his staff are kind, patient, explain the visit thoroughly, so there is no need to be anxious or unsure of what will happen. My husband has many physicians and Dr. Beaver outpaces all of them. He and his team work seamlessly to identify the issue, the solution, and the steps that will be taken to help the patient relax and get the care one needs!
