Rachel Barton is a board-certified primary care and acute care pediatric nurse practitioner (NP). Her background is in neonatal intensive care, primary care, and multiple surgical specialties. In addition to pediatric surgery, she sees general surgery referrals and helps coordinate care for colorectal patients. She believes in building long-term relationships with patients and families and strives to help patients achieve their medical goals.
Barton has been a registered nurse since 2009 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Central Florida. In 2013, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a focus in pediatrics, both from the Medical University of South Carolina. Barton obtained additional training as an acute care practitioner from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. She completed registered nurse first assist (RFNA) training in 2023 and assists during surgeries.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, baking, and traveling to visit family.
