Peter. A Walker, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified surgeon with additional fellowship training in minimally invasive and robotic gastrointestinal surgery. This additional training allows Dr. Walker to provide advanced treatment options to patients with advanced gastrointestinal issues.
When appropriate, Dr. Walker utilizes laparoscopic and robotic techniques for medical conditions including heartburn/reflux, hernias, weight loss, ulcers, gallbladder pain/stones, and achalasia. He also performs operations for advanced abdominal wall reconstructions as well as colon surgery.
Dr. Walker has held multiple academic and administrative positions with concentration on the quality of patient outcomes and care. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth). He has authored/coauthored greater than 50 peer reviewed manuscripts and book chapters.

Both Dr. Walker and staff were professional . They listen to what my concerns are about the surgery I have requested to have and answered all my questions without acting like robots going through the motions. Dr.Walker sat and explained the procedure in detail. He took the time , didn't act like I am just another person to get in and out as fast as he could.
Dr. Walker took the time to listen to my concerns and to have a frank conversation with me about my best options before and after surgery. I really liked him! He didn't treat as an old lady (which I am -87 yrs) but as an understanding Contemporary.

Dr. Walker was very thorough with his explanation about what to expect with my upcoming surgery. He answered my questions in my head before I had a chance to ask them which was great. It shows that he's actually listening and in tuned with his patients. His MA is very friendly as well.
Was accommodated to see a doctor as quickly as possible on my set appointment date even when my own doctor was not available. Front desk was communicative and reminded me on how to contact them if anymore health concerns/issues manifested.
