Michelle Johnston, MS, RN, ACNP-BC, is a certified nurse practitioner at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She has strong expertise in the areas of interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and heart failure and primarily sees adult patients. Johnston is a firm believer in ensuring that her patients are well-informed about their care, procedures, and post-procedure care. Her priority remains to ensure that each patient has the best outcome from their procedures.
Johnston is the current President-Elect and Educational Chair for the Galveston Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses. She is also an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Texas Nurses Association (TNA).
When Johnston is not caring for patients, she enjoys cooking Italian cuisine and being a fine wine connoisseur.

Aside from the first two days after surgery when I was in quite a bit of pain. It has been predictable and excellent.
Everyone in there was friendly & knowledgeable. Took time to answer questions & seemed to really care.

She was very professional in her conduct, answered every question I had, provided me with a great deal of information on things I should and should not do. She was very good. The whole team was good. You asked if anybody had about our wait time. It was very short of three to five minutes, but nobody asked. The way you prefaced the question was, did anybody ask you? And no, nobody did, but the wait time was very short.
My follow up from the procedure was with a nurse practitioner. She did an excellent job but it was a surprise that I did not see the doctor. I should have been advised in advance

Michelle may have saved my life. Last summer she determined that A-Fib was was causing my heart to decline. My Ejection Factor had fallen to about 40 when is below the minimum of 50. She recommended a new 3 prong pacemaker and an AVN Ablation which was performed last summer. Last week it was determined that the operation was successful and my heart is now OK.
Ms. Michelle has been my nurse practitioner since 2015. She is amazing. I had her in Dr. Sharma, but I know Dr. Sharma isn't there anymore. But the staff from the front desk all the way to the back lobby is amazing. And of course, she's top tier. She's not a 10. She's probably like a 20. She did a great job, per usual. And I'll always be back and I will definitely always leave a referral.

Michelle was very aware of my medical history and past treatments. She listened very carefully to me and the concerns I had. She was able to counsel me about my concerns and offer advice on how to handle them. Her notes on the visit were given to me before I left the office so that I could take them to my cardiologist's appointment the next day, a valuable resource in deciding how best to handle issues I was experiencing. I believe she went above and beyond any expectations I might have had. I would recommend her as a physician and friend without any hesitation whatever. I feel blessed to have her as member of my medical care family.

I was scheduled for a telemedicine consultation at 3:45 and instructed several times ahead of time to check in so that my phone appointment would not be delayed. I did this and it showed I was waiting for the other party to connect. This went on for 1 hour with no response or connection. I even called the office and they said Michelle Johnston was with the previous patient. I hung up after waiting for 1 hour. Michelle Johnston called a little later and said she had been in clinicals. Why was our time wasted like this? She just asked a few questions that could have been answered any time without an appointment that was not kept.
