Matthew W. Wasserman, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Wasserman treats patients of all ages and is fluent in Spanish. His special interests involve diagnosing and evaluating patients with lumbar and cervical spinal stenosis as well as treating those with lower back pain and chronic and degenerative spinal disorders. Dr. Wasserman is married and the father of three. He enjoys spending time with his family and plays amateur men’s soccer in the Houston Soccer League.

Excellent facility. Dr. Wasserman was awesome.
Staff was friendly and helpful to me both entering and leaving! Dr.Wasserman was so caring and explained my X-ray to me and made sure I knew what I was looking at. He was the Best ! I'm so thankful for him- he is such a Blessing! I made the correct decision because of him. He offered me options.

I didn't understand why you should arrive before your appointment if you wait a long time for them to call you and then put you in a room for a long time so the doctor can see you. He's only there for a minute or two and (unreadable) that my doctor sent him for more information.

I was early for my appt and still want seen on time. No one communicated about it. Dr wasserman was dismissive and acted like I was wasting his time. Was really surprised as my previous visits to this office to see another doctor were efficient and on time. Generally a bad experience .

I have always been treated well by Dr. Wasserman and his support staff. It is the reason I choose to return to him care instead of other orthopedic doctors my PCP suggested. He takes his time and is thorough when you see him. He has compassion and empathy for his patients.

My whole experience was excellent, from check-in to my visit with Dr. Wasserman. I highly recommend Dr. Wasserman! He took time to make sure he understood what was going on with my back issues and was thorough in his examination and explanation of what my issues are and offered me a conservative approach and reassurance about what I could do about my back issues. I appreciate his professional and kind demeanor and interaction and the time he took with me to make sure all my questions and concerns were addressed.
