Dr. Mary E. Russell specializes in treating patients recovering from brain injury and stroke. Spasticity can be a complication of such injuries so Dr. Russell utilizes a comprehensive approach to helping patients manage this condition. This can include botulinum and alcohol injections, and medication management. Her goal is to promote independence for those affected and enhance community reintegration. She treats teen, adult and senior patients.
Dr. Russell has been practicing medicine since 2014 and is board certified. She is also an assistant professor at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
She maintains memberships with the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the International Neurotoxin Association.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Russell enjoys playing pickleball, golf and spending time with friends and family.
