Marlene D. Cornelius is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) focused on medical weight loss management care.
She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2012. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner and is licensed by the state of Texas.
After obtaining her family nurse practitioner license, she was employed by a private OB-GYN office in Houston that provides infertility, wellness, hormone, and weight loss services. She joined the UT Physicians team in the fall of 2023.
Cornelius is married and has four children and twin grandsons. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoys running, swimming, reading, and teaching Junior Achievement at local Katy Independent School District schools.

It was a very good visit
I was really impressed with the intake procedures when I arrived from Valencia, Kennedy. She was very endearing and took really good care of me on the intake. And then from Marlene, who went over in detail with everything and asked me any questions that had to be handled to make sure that I was going to get the proper service, I thought that one of the best times I ever had with a health provider in 50 years. I definitely highly recommend it.
Marlene listened to my concerns & helped me develop a plan that I felt was individualized for my needs.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was very friendly, very professional. I met Dr. Marlene. I felt seen in her. I don't know how long we talked, but it felt like forever. I left with so much information, knowing how to, you know, do everything I needed to do. Everything was well explained. The nurses, like I said, the front staff, the receptionist, like it was a great experience. And I know people usually like going to the doctor, but that's how professional and how felt. I mean, I just felt seen. I felt heard. I didn't feel like I was just a number. I actually felt like Dr. Marlene listened to exactly what I was telling her to make the best plan of care for me.

I absolutely love this office and staff. There have been some stalls but assurance that those issues have been addressed. But my care and treatment has always been great.

I don't see how they could improve at all. I mean, I felt like very, very comfortable. Marlene, from the minute I walked in at the front desk to Vanessa and then Marlene, just, they're just absolutely great. Felt really comfortable and they're very professional, but they also are very caring. It's almost like a big caring family. I mean, they really care about your health and your wellbeing and your goals on to get where you need to be. And it's just very organized. They're just, if you don't understand something or they just are right there to help you and nothing's a problem. They're just great people. And I think they're definitely an asset to y'all. The medical field would be a much better environment for patients if all the providers were like Marlene. Professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. I am so fortunate that she is involved in my care!

I love Marlene! She goes above and beyond every visit to make sure you continue to progress each visit; with suggestions on exercises, food choices, sleep patterns and proper timing. I get something new out of each visit. I'm getting ready to start the GLP shots so I know she going to be a big help with that.
