Kunal S. Jain, MD, FACS, is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon who treats patients with benign and malignant head and neck tumors, including throat cancer, oral cancer, larynx cancer, locally advanced skin cancer, salivary gland tumors, thyroid/parathyroid disease, and cancer of the nose and sinuses. In addition, he is a reconstructive surgeon for cancer defects and performs simple to complex reconstructive surgeries requiring free tissue transfer or microsurgery.
Dr. Jain has expertise in head and neck cancer and reconstruction and fellowship training in treating patients with head and neck cancer. He spent a year in fellowship learning robotic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where the technology was pioneered. He performs minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery for throat cancer patients.
He is also an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Head and Neck Society. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics at Cornell University, spending his junior year at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom. After earning his medical degree in 2009 at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, he completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then joined the faculty of UTHealth Houston after completing a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology, Robotic Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
Dr. Jain is a reviewer for multiple journals including Head and Neck and JAMA Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. His research interests include improving outcomes of head and neck oncologic and reconstructive procedures.

The waiting room was a zoo--loud loud loud. Quite unnerving for anxious people.
He was very late with my appt. 1.5 hrs. He explained the delay & it made sense. He made me feel very comfortable about my status after checking my throat.
Not as good as ones in the past did not set up follow up visit probably. ( Too many steps to reach correct scheduler late call back , but I am old and hard of hearing. A large staff turnover, every six months I visit and every one is new
