Dr. Joseph (Jay) Muscat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Dr. Muscat is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has an added qualification in Sports Medicine. He attended Texas A&M University and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his internship, research in the biochemical analysis of fracture healing and orthopedic residency in San Antonio.
Dr. Muscat treats both pediatric and adult patients. With his added qualification in sports medicine he treats a variety of conditions including acute traumatic injuries, degenerative conditions and arthritis.
He is the team physician for Kingwood, Kingwood Park, Splendora and Huffman High Schools. He was a team physician for the United States and International men and women’s hockey teams during the 2002 Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.

The moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles from all of the ladies. It felt really good. The doctor's assistant was also very pleasant. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable, made me feel very comfortable and he assisted me the care and empathy.

Pleasant visit. X-ray tech, Dr Muscat asst and Dr Muscat all very cordial and helpful. Only weird thing happened in waiting room, several people in the same party, made multi trips to coffee pot but only got and drank the little creamer cups over multi trips. Kinda of funny yet weird. They were not unruly.

It is impossible to talk to someone or get information in a timely manner. I have a phone number and was told to call that, but the only person that will call me is the scheduler. It's now another entire week before we can even discuss results. All I want is a phone call from a provider to tell me what is going on. We don't have insurance so spending another $250+ to come chat in office and not for another week seems ridiculous. A simple yes this is bad or no it's not shouldn't be that difficult to get. Right now this experience hasn't been that great.
