Joannah Gonzales, PA-C, is a physician assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
She works alongside Andrew Choo, MD, and has been with the UT Physicians orthopedic trauma team since 2019.
Born and raised in the Greater Houston area, Gonzales enjoys providing exceptional health care for patients in her hometown.
Gonzales received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in 2002 and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005.
She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Gonzales is married and has four children and two dogs. Outside of work, she and her family are involved in serving at their church and have a heart for the homeless and those in poverty. She also enjoys hiking and visiting national parks.
All patient experience ratings and comments are submitted by actual patients and are received and validated by a leading independent survey company, NRC Health.

With Joannah and the staff it was great. I wished I had known before the surgery about post op equipment needed so I could have ordered it and had it available when discharged. I also would have wanted Dr. [...] to see me before discharge.

The staff, Joannah and the nurses, were very professional and I appreciated that. Joannah was very friendly and kind and I appreciated that. She showed concern that I was in so much pain and she was very thorough. Joannah was very thorough in checking out my past x-rays and in my current x-rays. And also, she communicated very well with me and again, I appreciated that I understood everything that she was telling me.
I was so happy with Joanna and she treat me so good.
