James M. Gregory, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. He treats the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow conditions, including the unique demands of the overhead athlete or the daily struggles caused by persistent shoulder or elbow pain. He has extensive experience with nonoperative management, as well as complex arthroscopic and open-surgical techniques.
He’s also an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and maintains an active interest in clinical research.
Gregory is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, and the Houston Shoulder Society. He has also been chosen as a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Professional staff. Doctor very friendly, caring and did not rush the appointment. I really respect the treatment that I received and the greetings and all. Something unusual did happen and my information that I thought that I got from Dr. Gregory is that I was not going to be able to have a steroid shot for about four months and then today I get a call and they were trying to schedule the shot and then I couldn't get hold of Dr. Gregory or the office at all and I tried several times but they were having troubles with their phone. So anyway, I'm but you know I I love what I've been experiencing with the office. This is the first time that it was just you know a little off kilter. I do believe in y'all's

Dr. Gregory was an excellent surgeon and did an excellent job on my shoulder. It's been a year now and I'll definitely go back to him with any future needs that I might have. The one issue I would bring up was right after the surgery, the pain management was inadequate. Not so much on his part, I guess, but it was just inadequate for a very painful surgery. Period. Improvement in pain management is needed, much needed. Period.
Dr Gregory is an amazing surgeon. Very compassionate, knowledgeable and caring. The office was able to schedule me the next day due to an international travel and to assure me that my shoulder is fine. Thank you to the whole team.

I could not have asked for a better medical experience than the one I have received over the past 8 months from Doctor James Gregory, Nicola Amoruso, and each staff member I have had the pleasure of meeting on each visit. They are all so warm, friendly, professional and courteous. I was greeted with a huge smile by each and every one on every visit. I was made to feel as though I was an extremely important individual/patient/family member to them. I was treated as though they sincerely cared about my health, well-being and the total success to the fullest possible extent of my surgeries. It is honestly my belief that I totally found THE BEST when I found Dr. Gregory and his team!! Trust me, I did quite a bit of research too before FINALLY making the perfect phone call and the nice lady on the other end of the line said, "Yes, Dr. Gregory definitely works on elbows. That is one of his specialties." That was my LUCKY day!! With all the other places I called, the answer I received was, "No, our surgeons don't do that type of surgery! I count my blessings each day for Dr Gregory and his team. I do believe my left elbow will SOON be back into a MUCH better working capacity that it was before meeting Dr. Gregory. Thank you to Dr. Gregory, Nicola, Neri, and Sheila and any names I have left off. You all are absolutely THE BEST. I am definitely going to miss seeing you.
