Ibrahim Alava III, MD, is a board-certified otorhinolaryngologist specialist who diagnoses and treats head and neck disorders. His clinical interests include new innovations in treating subglottic stenosis, endocrine head and neck surgery, skin cancers of the head and neck, and all aspects of general otolaryngology.
Alava is an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His research interests revolve around patient-centered outcomes and health care disparities in the underserved.

Well, it was a very, I had to wait for a sellout to get the appointment and I was expecting honestly more scientific response. All I got was a hearing test and tell me that I need hearing aids, no exam other than a hearing test, no look at the history, diagnostic, nothing special. I was a little disappointed with that, so I think you can improve with that. They treated me very well. Once I got there, it was really quick, but honestly I was expecting a more thorough diagnostic or maybe it's so simple that I'm just getting deaf and that's.
The Doctor was amazing! He listened intently and gave me his undivided attention. He was personable and sincere. He is very knowledgeable. He explained my injury in a way I could understand. I have several UTP and Memorial Hermann Specialists that I see and he is one of the best I've ever had. I am so pleased and relieved to have him on my team of Doctors!

It took me over 2 months to get this appointment. I had to come to this location as the location closest to my house had a waiting time til the end of [...]!!! I was supposed to have a hearing test first but that person was tied up so I saw the doctor first. He was very cordial and listened to what was happening with me. He checked my ears and had to remove quite a bit of wax from my right ear. After I was told the hearing test doctor would be with me soon. After an hour of waiting, I checked and was told this doctor was backed up and it would be another hour wait. The ENT doctor was contacted and he suggested one of the assistants contact the [...] office for the hearing test since it was closer to my home. I was able to get an appointment for [...][...], still quite a wait. Overall I was happy with the doctor but not with everything else!!
