This visit was rushed and consisted of a series of questions read off computer and explained as Medicare required questions. Not much conversation about what I was there for!!!! Normally Dr Savio is calm and very thorough. She kept shushing me and continuing on ask questions off computer!!!!! She was hurried and finally said I have to go as I tried to talk to her! She's never been that way before! I am a retired 50 yr veteran of the health care system. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! I expect the same care I gave my patients! It's already a nightmare with insurance not covering needed diagnostics tests used to help with my chronic conditions.!! So I'm have to choose weather I sit home and suffer in pain or take a loan out to get a MRI!!! It's a shame the CEO SITS AND COLLECTS OUR HIGH COPAYS, I only can afford only right after receiving my SS for the month if I can see my drs. At my age and acquired chronic conditions ( several from nursing lifting, pushing, turning, on my feet all day) loved my medical career and had to retire early because of my body's betrayal!!

I would like to say the lab. At the lab I was not, in fact I seem to have been forgotten. I sat there for a long time and I had to go ask what the problem might be. I just forgot that I was sitting out there. Otherwise everything else was well done. Thank you.

I am frustrated with UTHealth's insistence that providers see patients who are taking SSRIs every 6 months. There is no medical indication for this frequency - a patient who is doing well on their meds and is healthy should not be subjected to an in-person office visit for SSRI medication treatment. This feels like a money grab on the part of UTHealth. I like and trust my provider a lot but I am reluctant to recommend UTHealth because it feels increasingly often like the medical decisions are being driven by profit motives rather than medical necessity. Every time I go in for an appointment it seems as if I'm being recommended a follow-up or a course of treatment that is clearly designed to extract as much money from insurance as possible (ie: in-person office visits which you can bill to my insurance rather than telehealth, which have a lower reimbursement rate; or low-value blood work that is not medically indicated). I encourage UTHealth to put patients first rather than seeking every opportunity to juice insurance reimbursements on plans that you know pay well.
