Elsa Rodarte Rascon, MD, is a movement disorder specialist and an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Rodarte Rascon is a board-certified neurologist trained to diagnose and treat neurological conditions in teens, adults, and seniors.
Rodarte Rascon earned her medical degree in 2012 from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education’s Ignacio A. Santos School of Medicine. She completed two research fellowships in immunobiology and optogenetics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and McGovern Medical School, respectively. Clinically, she specialized in neurology and movement disorders at UTHealth Houston.
She currently holds active memberships with the Society for Neuroscience, Cajal Club, Functional Neurological Disorder Society, Movement Disorders Society, Texas Neurological Society, American Academy of Neurology, and North American Neuromodulation Society.
In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, art, team sports, and hiking.
