Daron Moreno, PA-C, earned his undergraduate degree in environmental engineering in 2004 at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and served eight years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. While there, Moreno attended U.S. Army Ranger School and earned the Ranger tab worn by elite soldiers. He deployed to a combat theater of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. He served in multiple leadership roles, including platoon leader and company commander. Following eight years of active duty, which included three combat deployments, Moreno left to pursue a master’s in physician assistant studies. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 2017, earning two awards. He was given the Henry D. McIntosh Award, awarded to the graduating physician assistant student who, in the opinion of classmates and faculty, has achieved the highest degree of academic excellence and service and best exemplifies the physician assistant’s concept. Moreno was also given the Alumni Association Lehmann Outstanding Student Award, given annually to students who display the qualities integral to Baylor College of Medicine’s values.
After graduation, Moreno joined a practice where he specialized in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Moreno’s focus was on shoulder and knee sports-related injuries as well as shoulder reconstruction. He first assisted in over 2,000 orthopedic surgery cases and took general surgery calls on the weekends.
In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and perfecting the art of smoking BBQ.
