Cynthia Lew has been a registered nurse and a diabetes educator for more than 20 years. She is personally committed to helping teen and adult patients control their diabetes so they can live healthier lives.
She takes an interactive and fun approach on patient education. She is part of a Patient-Centered Medical Home Program, which delivers high quality care through a primary care physician that can lead to lower costs, improved outcomes and a better patient experience.
She is an active member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the American Diabetes Association. She also has additional training as a diabetes lifestyle coach.
All patient experience ratings and comments are submitted by actual patients and are received and validated by a leading independent survey company, NRC Health.

She tries to instill some things that will help you in a new way, to help you on your new way of your diet and your health and everything. She is an asset to the UT position.

I really like talking to Cindy, But it it looks like I won't be coming back any more, Nothing she did, I just can't aford it at paying the copay. I havent worked since the first of january so just won't be able to pay the copay anymore. If I have to pay any co pay to see Dr. Carhill, I may not able to see her either. I really dont know what I will do. It seems that etna insurance has raised all the meds to 600 or 800 and I dont know right now what I will do when I need my insulin to stay alive is gone, I guess die. I'm getting scared at that point. I dont know what people do. All I have is ,my SS which is only 3200 a month, That barely will pay my bills and nothing even that. Anyway sorry to tell you all this, but have no one to talk to. Any way God Bless, May God be with you all.

I have made the recommended diet changes on the next day after the visit. I will upgrade my FreeStyle Libre from 2 to 3 in one week after the visit, at the end of my current Libre 2 I look forward to my next appointment and will share progress via the UTHealth portal.
Provider and front desk persons were fine. The desk person was trying to obtain information from her supervisor, but could not because she was in meeting. I left before I obtained the billing information
