Cooper R. Benson, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained urology specialist treating a variety of urologic conditions, including urethral stricture disease, genital and urinary tract injury, ureteral strictures, male urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, adult buried penis, urinary diversions, side effects following prostate cancer and other pelvic cancer treatments and radiation (bladder, colon and rectal, and gynecologic malignancy), rectourethral fistula, neurogenic bladder, and adult congenital genitourinary anomalies. His fellowship training is in genitourinary reconstructive surgery.
Benson believes in an evidence-based and patient-centered individualized approach to care that focuses on improving quality of life.
He’s an assistant professor in the Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He’s a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Sexual Medicine Society.
Outside of work, Benson enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, attending concerts, trying new restaurants, and being outdoors.

The Dr's face could have been a little bit clearer but the over all experience was good.

The people who do the scheduling, they don't know what's going on and they're kind of rude. Other than that, everything else is okay.
Total Waste of time as the doctor was moving to Ohio & did not want to do any tests as the next doctor, who ever that is, would just do them over again. I had to wait TWO Months for this appointment. I left my house at 10:00 & got home around 2:00. He could have called & just cancelled as he knew he was not going to do one DAMN thing. Now I have to find another doctor & wait another two months in pain. Do not even think about sending me a bill as I do not pay for nothing. Please reimburse me for the $ 12.00 for parking. One of the WORST experiences in my life. Very Disappointing. I know NOBODY reads this stuff as nobody really gives a damn about the patients anymore.

We extend our deepest condolences to the medical community in Houston as we learn of Dr. Benson's impending relocation to Ohio. His exceptional qualities as a compassionate physician make his departure a significant loss to me and Texas Medical Center, UT Physicians Urology department.

I don't like the fact that procedures can only be done on certain days. It's not fair to people that have to travel a long distance and work.
Excellent doctor and staff
I have worked in clinical operations, on drug studies, for a payor fiduciary intermediary, and for an insurance company, and I have never known a doctor I trusted more immediately. Dr. Benson is s platinum-level prover.
