Caroline Weir, PA-C, is a physician assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
She specializes in orthopedic trauma and works alongside surgeon James Shaw, MD.
Weir received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Oklahoma. While there, she played volleyball for the Sooners, earning the Jay Meyers Award for the highest GPA of all freshman student-athletes. She then received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
When not treating patients, Weir enjoys traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her friends, family, and rescue dog, Baker.

Ms. Weir and Dr. [...] have been so good to me. They''ve prescribed therapies, tests, and even bone stimulation for my humerus that has been slow to heal. They answer questions and make referrals when necessary. The two of them and the office staff are so kind, courteous, helpful and friendly. I will recommend them to anyone who needs trauma treatment.
