Bhavani Iyer, DO, FAAO, is the director of the Dan Arnold Center for Vision Rehabilitation. The center includes adaptive computer training, driving simulation, and a full kitchen to help patients with visual rehabilitation.
At the clinic, Iyer takes pride in assisting patients with resuming everyday activities, such as reading and driving, after suffering low vision caused by macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, stroke, or other conditions.
Iyer received her doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry in 1997, after earning her baccalaureate in optometry in India. She completed a low vision fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry in Rockville, Maryland. In 2020, she reached a milestone by becoming a low vision diplomate through the American Academy of Optometry.

Since I didn't know what to expect, the doctor helped me know what to expect. She checked me out and offered some really helpful suggestions.

Dr.iyer iyer is excellent. Her assistant had a lot of trouble working with a 94 year on a particular piece of equipment. She never allowed me to sit up straight and I never could count the dots properly. I never had trouble before.
Dr iyers did a great job of explaining my condition and giving me a realistic expectation of my possibilities.
I had an awesome experience. Everybody was so nice. And the nurse said she was so nice and helping me with my transportation. The doctor was thorough. It wasn't very good news about my eyes, but the doctor was very thorough. And it was just very important to me how she treated me and how she talked to me. Well, the assistant, well first of all, the receptionist was lovely when she checked me in. Two, the assistant to Dr. Iyer was great and very thorough. I enjoyed my visit with her. And Dr. Iyer was wonderful. Very, yeah, she was thorough and I thoroughly enjoyed her. One thing that could work, I have unsuccessfully tried to set up my MyChart with you guys. How about the first time a customer, I mean a patient comes in, the receptionist says, may I help you get the app on your phone and help you do it? Because first of all, a lot of these people coming in can't see worth a heck like me and I'm very old and unsuccessful in setting it up. Anyway, just a thought. My visit was great.
