Dr. Bal Reddy is an Assistant Professor at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He is currently the Medical Student Education Director for the Department of Family & Community Medicine.
Dr. Bal Reddy is a highly regarded board certified Family Physician who has been actively practicing for over a decade in the Houston area. As an experienced Family Physician who trained in the Texas Medical Center, he is well-versed in caring for patients of all ages and complexity levels. He also performs several low-risk outpatient procedures and cares for patients hospitalized at Memorial Hermann Hospital-TMC.
He has authored/co-authored multiple review books in Family Medicine education, and given several state and national presentations on various topics. His primary area of interest is in medical education.
Dr. Reddy divides his time between patient care, teaching, and directing multiple required primary care courses at the McGovern Medical School.

I wish the doctor visit included going over developmental milestones and making sure my child was on track with communication, physical ability, etc. I don't have any concerns, but this is also my only child so I don't have a comparison. I'm glad his heart, lungs, throat, and ears, and height and weight are looking great but I feel like the wellness checkup should include more milestones than that.

This was a great experience. I was seated promptly and saw the doctor immediately. I feel like I got good care from Dr Reddy
I sent a message directly to Dr Reddy prior to booking the appointment about what I needed and why I wanted to come in. The nurse read it and responded as to what type of appointment I needed to book and I booked it letting the front office know what I was coming for. I came to my appointment, chatted with the doctor for 10 minutes or so until I had to say what I was there for because it seemed like he wasn't going to address the issue. He was shocked and told me he was already out of time and had to go. I asked him if he even read the message I sent and he acted like he had no idea and said "no, the nurses read those" or something along those lines. I had to open the message to show him what I sent so he could read it to which he informed me there was no way insurance would approve it and after several minutes of going back and forth I had to clarify that I was looking for a wheelchair or rollator to use occasionally and NOT a motorized scooter (which I never even mentioned, my specific words were "a mobility device"). He said oh that's different. In addition, I informed him of a group trip I have coming up very soon on February 1st to a theme park and that I needed a doctor's note to utilize accessibility at the park to which he said "I don't feel comfortable doing that" and offered no solutions until I started crying explaining why I need it and what my day to day issues are that he doesn't see on a regular basis for part of which are why I am ALREADY on disability permanently. He said he would refer me to pain management so that they could have my issues on record (even though they are in my files already) and that I would get my note (without saying who would be providing me the note). Over a week later as of today, January 17th, I have STILL not received a phone call from pain management to schedule an appointment even after calling and leaving a voice mail on 1/13/25. I need to submit the doctor's note no later than 48 hours prior to my trip which would be 1/29/25, only 8 business days from today. I wonder how in the heck I am to schedule an appointment at a new doctor whom I have no idea what their availability or waitlist is like in the span of 8 days. This is the second time recently I feel like I have had to fight tooth and nail for the care that I am seeking and at this point I would like to switch doctors altogether because of the difficulties and lack of proper procedures and care. Previously I have never had an issue at UT Physicians and have always loved coming there over the last 6 years or so. I would like this to be addressed as I would like to continue being a patient at UT Physicians.
I have had a visit with Dr. Reddy before I enjoyed the visit before,I enjoyed this one even better. Why? Because he broke it down to me where I could understand my symptoms,what can cause or make it worse I have something like before, I had no knowledge of the affect it could have played on me at a later time. Yes! My second visit with him. Awesome. THANKS YOU UTP.
The office personnel and my doctor are always kind to me. Everyone I spoke with was respectful and nice. Ms. Brenda at the front desk answered questions for me, the MA went over my history/meds & informed me of my vitals and was super sweet. My doctor, Dr.Reddy was my mom's doctor and I trust his advice.

The staff at UT is simply amazing. I've actually been a patient for a little over 15 years, of Dr. Reddy's and of UT. He is an amazing provider as well.
