Annie Scheckter, PA-C, serves as a member of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Since 2014, Scheckter has worked alongside Matthew E. Koepplinger, DO, specializing in hand and upper extremity in elective and trauma surgery.
Scheckter is involved in the full spectrum of care, having assisted with numerous surgeries and seeing patients in the clinic and hospital settings. Before her career as a physician assistant, Scheckter was an occupational therapist, working in pediatrics for four years and adult rehabilitation for one year.
Scheckter is an active member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
Outside of work, Scheckter loves cooking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her husband Neil and their three children.

Annie was attentive, listened to my many ailments and offered answers to my many issues. Her knowledge about issues was impressive and I walked away feeling very comfortable about the care I'll receive from this new provider.

The doctor was great but I had to wait an hour - there's no reason why this would be the wait time in the morning. The nurse who asked background questions was very rude. She said I needed an X-ray, I asked to check how much it would cost, and she refused to do so and said "you should have known we would take an X-ray. If you want to find out you can go out to the front office and ask". I asked to see the doctor. She responded with exasperation. Why is she surprised I would want to know if imaging is covered? Is she new to the American healthcare system? The Doctor was great and had to go check that for me, and was very accommodating. I would not come back though, because of the wasted time and the rude staff.
Was super thorough with the exam, answered every question perfectly. Great PA, and amazing bed side manner.
Customer service was excellent! My care was excellent as well.
This is my third appointment with UTHealth Houston/ UT Physicians ( 3 different departments) since changing Insurances. I am really impressed at the professionalism all staff show. Before and after my appointment.

Ann was friendly ,professional and provided excelkant Healthcare. The xray technologist and the rest if the staff were excellant. I felt that Ann and the staff genuinely cared about me and addressed all of my concerns. I appreciated the 5 star service. Keep up the great service thank you.
