Allan R. Katz, MD, is a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology specialist who diagnoses and treats conditions of the female reproductive system and associated disorders. He has cared for women since 1975 and was one of the first surgeons to be certified through the DaVinci surgery program.
Katz is a professor, the Robert K. Creasy, MD Professor in OB-GYN, and vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and director of the department’s obstetrics and gynecology division. He’s chief of gynecology at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
Katz has been instrumental in developing McGovern Medical School’s Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecology (FMIGS).
He earned his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

I have some questions as to my prescription and how it should be administered. My druggist was confused as well. How can i get in touch with my doctor to ask questions in the future ? I just need to know how to be able to reach him with prescription issues (for now) without having to drive to his office across town. He is and has been a wonderful doctor all these years !! I read my test result that indicated a UTI. I should have had a prescription called in immediately. Now I have to wait till tomorrow. TU.

This doctor and his staff are 100% dedicated to being healthcare professionals. They care, they follow-up, they make clear explanations and most importantly there is no indefinite waiting to get an appt. or when you go to your appt.. You are treated in a manner unknown to most healthcare people today. What a blessing!

I was initially nervous about seeing a male doctor, but Dr. Katz immediately made me feel at ease during my exam. He is a great listener, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Unlike some doctors who might dismiss concerns as 'normal,' he took the time to understand my experiences and validate my worries. I felt comfortable discussing everything that had been troubling me since my previous provider, and Dr. Katz introduced treatment options I hadn't heard of before, which was really reassuring. I'm confident he will be my permanent gynecologist moving forward.

Dr Katz has been the best provider. I have known him for over 23 years of trusted care. He now cares for the girls he delivered. I trust him to always provide the best possible care. He is kind, knowledgable and takes the time to address all of our concerns. The front staff and nursing staff were also helpful and friendly and made the visit even more pleasant.
My provider is always concerned about my health concerns and assures me he is going to do the appropriate tests to solve my medical concerns. Great bedside manners.

It was a terrible experience. Dr Allan Katz (an obgyn) was extremely dismissive of me, belittling and generally disrespectful. [...] He was patronizing towards me and aggressively locker-room brotherly towards my husband, talked down to me and dismissed everything I tried to say. [...] Needless to say, we walked out of the appointment. I felt pushed around and belittled and my husband was disgusted. I'm glad my husband was there with me, because I could see how the diminishing power play would have intimidated other women and probably me, had I been alone. [...] It's not even a question of 'bedside manners' it is outright psychological [...]. I wouldn't be surprised if other women had had similar experiences.
Dr. Allan Katz is the best OBGYN I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He doesn't just listen to my issued repetitively, he takes action to find out what's causing the pain. He tries different treatments before recommending surgery. I was in pain for years until I met Dr. Katz!! He doesn't treat you like a number, he really cares. No matter what I speak to him about, he makes sure all my needs are met!!!
