After years of serving plastic and reconstructive surgery patients in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), UT Physicians is proud to announce the opening of a second location in the Greater Heights.
“We’re trying to broaden our presence in the community,” said Klara Sputova, MD, a plastic surgeon with UT Physicians. “A lot of our patients don’t feel comfortable traveling to the TMC. You know, it’s a large area with a lot of hospitals. It can be confusing. Our presence in the Greater Heights, I think will make things easier for patients.”
Sputova, an assistant professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, says expanding to this location enhances the comprehensive care for breast cancer patients that already exists at the Greater Heights location.
“So, they currently see their medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, and breast surgeon and now they will see their plastic surgeon there too,” she said.
Sputova was hired in September 2023 as the first fellowship-trained female surgeon to offer her specialty care for breast reconstruction at UTHealth Houston. She completed fellowship training in microvascular and complex reconstructive surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
“I always wanted to do reconstruction for breast cancer patients,” said Sputova, who will be splitting her time building the practice at the new location while still treating her patients at the Texas Medical Center location. “It is an exciting opportunity to apply skills that help women heal and feel fully restored following cancer.”
She also offers general plastic and cosmetic surgery with a focus on breast augmentation.
The new location for UT Physicians Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery – Greater Heights is located at 1631 N. Loop West, Suite 560.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
