Evelyn George, FNP, provider for UT Physicians Multispecialty – Rosenberg, wanted to become a nurse like her mother and aunt.
“My mom would come home with stories about how she was able to help patients,” George said. “Her stories motivated me, and I wanted to be just like her. That’s why I chose nursing.”
A graduate of Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, this nurse practitioner gladly joined the Rosenberg clinic in November 2022.
“I have family and friends who are patients with UT Physicians. They only have great things to say about the clinics,” she said. “I’m excited to come back and be part of the UTHealth Houston system again.”
George earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University Institute of Health Sciences – Houston Center in 2013. George went on to earn her master’s degree and family nurse practitioner certification in 2018 from UTHealth Houston.
She worked as a nurse for five years at Houston-area hospitals before becoming a practice provider.
“When I was working bedside, I’d see the providers interact with the patients. They became my role models,” George said. “I wanted to be like them and provide patients with treatments and prescriptions, and see them directly get better as a result of my advice or intervention.”
George practices family medicine so she can treat her patients for a variety of conditions.
“I can provide a broad spectrum of care for my patients,” she said. “I also practice preventive medicine, which is another reason I enjoy family medicine.”
The best part of her job is getting to know her patients and help them stay well.
“Being a good listener and being there for my patients is important to me,” she said. “Providing the best care is what I try to do every single day.”
Outside the clinic, George enjoys spending time with her family and stays busy with her 7-month-old child. She also enjoys traveling whenever possible.
