What is an E-Visit?
An E-Visit is a great way to communicate with a provider for a non-urgent medical condition you are experiencing. At this time, it is only available for patients who see a family medicine provider at 6410 Fannin St., Suite 170, Houston, TX 77030. It may expand to other specialties later this year. An E-Visit is conducted through the MyUTHealth Houston patient portal for your convenience. An E-Visit could replace an in-person clinic appointment and, in some cases, an urgent care center visit. Use of the E-Visit service is subject to the MyUTHealth Houston Consolidated Terms and Conditions of Use.
What can I expect during an E-Visit?
First, you will be asked about your symptoms. If an E-Visit may be appropriate, you will answer specific questions about your health concern in a questionnaire, which could take 10-20 minutes. It is important that you provide the best information about what you are experiencing so we can respond accordingly.
E-Visits are perfect for the following conditions:
- Back pain
- Cough
- COVID concern
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Urinary tract infection
Please be prepared to provide your insurance details or medication lists, as you cannot save your progress and finish later.
When can I have an E-Visit?
E-Visits are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What does an E-Visit cost?
Your estimated cost will be verified with your insurance plan. If you do not have any insurance, your estimated payment will be $31.
If your E-Visit is not completed, you will not be charged.
Self-pay patients’ credit cards will be charged when the visit is submitted. If the patient is redirected to the clinic or an emergency room, the payment will be refunded within 24 business hours.
Insured patients’ credit cards will be charged when the provider completes the E-Visit. If the patient is redirected to the clinic or an emergency room, they will not be charged.
